Haas has officially signed Esteban Ocon from Alpine on a multi-year contract to join rookie Ollie Bearman in 2025. Ocon's signing was announced on Thursday in Belgium, just before the final race before the summer break, at the very track where he made his F1 debut back in 2016. This marks a significant milestone for Haas, as Ocon will be their first Grand Prix winner since the team entered the sport in 2016.

With 146 career starts, Ocon brings a wealth of experience from his time with Manor, Force India, Renault, and Alpine, amassing 425 points, including three podium finishes and a memorable maiden win in Hungary in 2021.

Ocon shares a history with Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu, who engineered Ocon during his first F1 test in 2014 with Lotus, now operating under the Alpine banner, at Valencia.

“I’m delighted we’ve secured Esteban Ocon’s services for Haas,” said Komatsu. “I’ve been aware of his talents for a long time, dating back to his maiden run in a Formula 1 car. Esteban's experience, talent, and background working with a manufacturer team will be invaluable to our growth as an organization.”

Komatsu emphasized the importance of having an experienced driver alongside Bearman, highlighting Ocon’s youth and potential to prove even more in his career. "We have a hungry, dynamic driver pairing, and I look forward to welcoming Esteban to Haas for 2025."

Owner Gene Haas added, “It was important to have a driver with a known pedigree in Formula 1. Esteban’s proven himself in every team he’s raced for, and his consistent performance is what we need as we aim for greater on-track success. Our future driver line-up blends youth and experience, and I'm eager to see the results.”

“I’m joining a very ambitious racing team whose spirit and work ethic have truly impressed me,” Ocon said. “I want to thank Gene Haas and Ayao Komatsu for their trust and support. On a personal note, I'm thrilled to work with Ayao again, as he was part of my debut in Formula 1 during my Lotus Junior days. Haas has exciting plans and clear targets for the future, and I'm looking forward to being part of this great project.”
